Back to School I have no life now. I am taking three courses this semester and doing freelance graphic design. I don't even have time to update this website (ok, maybe I have a little time). I will make more exciting updates later.
Greedy Philanthropist Behold! Below is a picture of my first Greedy Philanthropist item:
This is the first of many bags I will design, create and sell in an effort to help a plethora of charities. More details on Greedy Philanthropist to come! Catchin' Up Life has been crazy lately so I have slacked off a bit on my site. But better late than never, here are some picks of the latest and greatest: This is a cool bus shot - primarily this picture documents me learning how to use my new camera:
Just your typical day in Somerville with a large green martian at every street corner:

More to come... Faking It
I love tattoos. I always wanted to get one but it would kill my mother. So... the next best thing is a fake one! This is a Dover removable Picasso tattoo. (I think I bought it in Florence, Italy about 4 years ago when I was supposed to be on a guided tour of the Ufitze Gallery). I was having a bit of an identity crisis this week so I thought I would try out "artsy/biker chick." I don't think I have the arms for it. Independence Day and Losing a Limb?
For the 4th of July, Jake and I set off about a hundred fireworks in the backyard. While it is undeniable that these at-home explosives provide a certain level of exhilaration, I always feel like they never really live up to expectation: there is usually just a fizzle and sputter rather than an honest-to-goodness firework. However, I think this anti-climactic experience may be East-Coast-specific. When I was in Alpena, Michigan last year, I overheard a waitress say her fiancee blew off his finger while creating a monster fireworks display. She didn't really seem to care about the medical emergency except that the appendage in question was his ring figure. They were going to have to resize his wedding band so it could fit on his middle finger. Who said the 4th of July (or the Midwest for that matter) is boring? LAVA: The Game
Jake likes to think of it as "urban rock climbing," but LAVA is exactly the same game you played when you were five: you go from one point of the jungle-gym to another without touching the ground... because it's lava. Last week he found an enormous playground in Somerville to practice his kinesthetic art. For previous entries, visit Life & Times Archive. |
